HOW MUCH WILL A VISIT COST? Prices vary for each ceramic, anywhere from $16-$180 however the average price for pieces are in the $22-28 range. There is a studio fee per painter which is your time, underglazes(ceramic paint),tools and other materials to create techniques, glazing and firing. Studio fees for adults is $10.00 per painter and $8.00 for painters 12 and under. DO I NEED EXPERIENCE TO PAINT? Great news! This is for all skill levels and all ages. We believe everyone can experience the fun of painting. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PAINT? Well, that depends on the piece you choose and the complexity. Budget for at least two hours. If you do not finish before the studio closes for the day (or you just need to quit for the day), not to worry we will send your piece home with you and you can bring back at a later time to finish. However, the day of return we will charge another studio fee. WHEN CAN I PICK UP MY FINISHED PIECE AND WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG? After you leave your piece with us , it needs to dry for 24 hours. Then we dip your piece in an over glaze to make sure it is completely sealed where it will dry for another 24 hours. We then sand each piece to get rid of drips and bumps . Then we carefully load your piece(s) in the kiln. The temperature of the kiln needs to reach 1828F to achieve the desired glassy appearance. It can take a day and half in the kiln. After we have inspected your piece and feel that it doesn’t need additional over glaze, we pack it up and text you to come pick it up. It generally takes 7-10 days for your piece to be processed.We can rush your piece but do need a full 3 days and we charge $5 a piece. Please leave a legible number with us and please note that our texts may end up in your phones spam folder. When in doubt, call us at the studio( 281-665-3490) to inquire about your piece. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO PICK UP MY PIECE? We text you when it is ready and then you have 30 days after that to pick up. We give a courtesy text to remind you after two weeks if you havn’t picked up. If you havn’t heard from us in 2 weeks, then please give a call or be sure to check your phones spam folder. If after 30 days your order is not picked up then we discard. No refunds will be given for discarded orders. If you need more time to pick up please give us a call and we will be happy to hold for longer. CAN I BRING CERAMICS THAT I HAVE BOUGHT OR MADE FROM ELSEWHERE TO PAINT AND FIRE? We can only accept ceramics that have been purchased from other Color me mine’s for liabilty’s sake. We just need proof of purchase and you will need to pay a studio fee. Commitment. Although we strive to create the best finished product possible, we know that many factors can affect the result of your piece. Under glaze, over glaze and firing in the kiln can all have a mind of their own. Therefore additional time may be needed to accomplish this. Whatever the situation, we strive to create the best product and experience possible.
